Fiona is a clinical counsellor, psychotherapist, coach and yoga therapist who works with her clients to help them reconnect with their inner truth and their souls purpose and intention. She believes people are conditioned to look for answers on the outside, and works to create the psychological and emotional conditions for people to go within to explore their own inner guidance. Fiona helps clients struggling with anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic health conditions, life transitions and low self-esteem. She helps clients identify the spiritual and emotional causation of “dis-ease” and says physical symptoms are often a clue to something occurring on a deeper, psychological, spiritual or energetic level. Through counselling, she focuses on helping clients understand their blocks and resistance to change and helps them realise a greater sense of peace and perspective. Fiona is a passionate proponent of the ancient wisdom traditions and weaves in a number of these into her sessions, including Qigong, mindfulness and Taoist principles, as well as yoga. She also uses a number of western modalities including Narrative Therapy, Family Constellations Therapy, Internal Family Constellations (IFC), Focussing, Bach Flower Therapies and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Describing herself as a warm, caring and compassionate counsellor, Fiona uses curiosity and intuition to explore the contribution of a client’s past to their present day problems and concerns. Fundamental to her work is the Taoist notion that all the answers we seek to our problems are already inside of us. When we can tame, or regulate, our sometimes difficult and often challenging emotions we gain access to a sacred place of inner stillness and deeper knowing. Often bringing yoga therapy and Qigong into her work, Fiona offers practical skills and tools to manage troublesome emotions and uncomfortable feelings. Yoga and Qigong, she says, help cultivate inner resources and resilience and reunites us with the body’s innate wisdom and power. Fiona’s true passion is witnessing people change and heal past wounds as they experience a new sense of emotional freedom and agency. She says it’s such a privilege seeing her clients bloom with a renewed sense of purpose, meaning and joy in their lives. She enjoys working with women and, in particular, mothers, having spent more than 20 years teaching perinatal yoga and women's health. Fiona offers regular women’s circles, courses and workshops to help improve physical and mental health and wellbeing. She looks forward to working with you. Read more
