Jo is a fully qualified Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner, acupuncturist, shiatsu therapist and Japanese yoga instructor with more than three decades of experience in the health and wellbeing industry. Passionate about bodywork and oriental therapies, Jo aims to empower her clients so they can know more about themselves, equipping them with the tools to be able to recognise the changes they require to improve their health. In both TCM and yoga, her focus is on transformation - she likes to educate her clients, making them aware of the nuances in their world impacting them. Jo has an extensive history of treating people for a wide range of health issues at her TCM clinic but she has a particular focus on children and teenagers, women in mid life, sports injury rehabilitation and musculoskeletal issues. She has a passion for helping people realise their potential and to achieve better control over their health and wellbeing, especially those who have been marginalised or overlooked by traditional western approaches, by empowering them through alternative methods and strategies. Jo trained with some of Australia’s first Japanese yoga teachers and her yoga classes are seasonally based, with a focus on the traditional five elements. She closely supports and guides her students through their yoga sessions, resulting in them feeling a sense of spaciousness and freedom in their joints – and in their minds – so they feel cared for through their yoga journey. Jo loves seeing people step into their greater selves as they find their own spark and regain joy in their life, feeling as if they can walk away and create the next part of their journey, embracing their bigger selves. Jo has worked on shiatsu standards for national industry bodies and associations; and she regularly runs extensive mentoring courses on seasonal living, based on TCM principles. Based in Sorrento, on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Jo looks forward to working with you. Read more

Virtual Online Masterclass: THE UPSIDE OF EMOTIONS: A 5 ELEMENT APPROACH TO WORKING WITH IRRITATION, FRUSTRATION AND ANGER

De-Stress the mind, body and spirit with guidance, and easy to follow instructions in this... De-Stress the mind, body and spirit with guidance, and easy to follow instructions in this Virtual Masterclass as we work with irritation, frustration and anger in the Upside of Emotions, a 5 element approach. Our emotions are dynamic, engaging and informative. Although emotions can be supportive to our everyday way of life, frequently, we ineffectively react and release pent up emotions or repress those that are uncomfortable. This is where the ‘Upside of emotions’ comes in! This half-day virtual masterclass and workshop will provide practical insight, strategies and tools that may quickly and efficiently release blocks that are caused by these imbalances. The Upside of Emotions is perfect for anyone wishing to remedy self or practitioner hoping to grow a greater understanding of their clients. Expert practitioner and health mentor, Jo Hafey, leads this unique training to assist you in discovering the meaning, importance and power of emotional wellbeing as guided by the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the 5 elements. Although you will gain an overview of each element and their corresponding emotions, the primary focus will revolve around the Wood element, associated with Spring and the Liver and Gall Bladder meridians. We will be working with the emotions of irritation, frustration and anger so that you may be able to gain a clearer pathway of how to use these cues to your advantage. Summary of what you will learn, practice and gain is: ✔ Learn a basic 5 element framework as it relates to emotional wellbeing ✔ Recognise “mind chatter,” triggers and reactive patterns as they correlate to different elemental energetics ✔ Gain insight into your dominate behaviour tendencies in relationship to irritation, frustration and anger ✔ Ease and unwind tension through releasing relevant Acupressure and Ear points ✔ Adopt effective practices to allow you to access emotional wisdom ✔ Activate opportunities to rejuvenate and centre yourself ✔ Choose a nurturing path forward that conveys your true message When you understand your emotions, you have increased awareness of your reactive patterns, and greater skills to reduce overwhelm. This ultimately allows you to choose the behavior that aligns with who you truly are. Free flowing emotions have the power to inform your everyday life. So take command of your emotions and your life now! The Upside of Emotions: A 5 Element approach to working with Irritation, Frustration and Anger. An experiential online masterclass and workshop Sunday November 13th at 10.30am to 12 noon Secure your spot by November 7th for just $47, after which the price will increase to $97. Read more
