Joshua is a meditation teacher, Bowen therapist and craniosacral therapist. Through his holistic clinic, Joshua’s focus is to help his clients see their health in the context of their whole living life so that they can be truly empowered. Joshua has been a practising Bowen therapist and craniosacral therapist since 2006. He treats a wide range of ailments including stress-related conditions, musculoskeletal issues, headaches and migraines, TMJ pain, back pain and sciatica, chronic/autoimmune conditions and anxiety. While an airman in the U.S. Air Force, shoulder pain motivated Joshua to try Bowen and craniosacral therapy for the first time in 2000. The pain quickly resolved, yet it was the profound relaxation and sense of wellbeing that inspired him to become a practitioner. Intense anxiety and a deeper spiritual calling were the impetus in seeking something more real and fulfilling at the age of 19, leading him to meditation. Over the past 25 years, Joshua has been with different spiritual teachers and masters, attended countless retreats, and given many hours a day to reading, listening, watching, meditating, integrating and applying a deeper sense of presence and being in his daily living life. As a meditation teacher, Joshua particularly enjoys guiding others in becoming more aware of and moving through the unseen and unresolved emotion driving the pressure, stress, thinking and unhelpful behaviours they experience in their lives. Being a sole practitioner and recognising the benefits of collaborating with and learning from other practitioners, Joshua founded the North Shore Practitioner Alliance (NSPA) in 2019. He is also a former President of the Bowen Association of Australia and a former teacher of the Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy. Joshua looks forward to supporting you in your health and in your life. Read more

Bowen Therapy - Initial Consultation

Bowen therapy is a dynamic muscle and connective tissue therapy which stimulates the body's... Bowen therapy is a dynamic muscle and connective tissue therapy which stimulates the body's natural healing response and brings about remarkable results and long-lasting relief from pain. Bowen therapy consists of a series of precise rolling movements over muscles, fascia, tendons, nerves and ligaments. These moves are light and can be done through clothing. There are frequent and important pauses between each series of moves giving the body time to benefit from each. Often people experience sensations such as warmth, tingling, coldness or heaviness while the body is integrating these moves and coming into greater balance. Bowen can address a wide range of ailments and conditions, including: - back pain and sciatica - jaw pain and TMJ syndrome - carpal tunnel syndrome/ RSI - plantar fasciitis and heel spurs Bowen therapy is deeply relaxing and most clients experience reduced pain, increased mobility and a greater sense of wellbeing. The process of healing and rebalancing usually continues for several days after a Bowen session. Read more

Craniosacral Therapy Consultation

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive modality that seeks to locate and treat restrictions throughout the body. Restrictions within the craniosacral system can lead to tension patterns and affect the functioning of all bodily systems, leading to a variety of painful and disruptive symptoms. Through various assessment tools, Joshua can globally assess your body and craniosacral system and find the “primary” restrictions or “root causes” of issues. Craniosacral therapy may be beneficial for a wide variety of issues, including: headache and migraine chronic back and neck pain general musculoskeletal pain tinnitus temporomandibular joint (TMJ) eyesight issues central nervous system disorders fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome stress-related issues emotional trauma After a series of treatments, many people notice reduced pain, better overall health, improved immunity, improved sleep, more energy and improved body awareness. During a session, the client is encouraged to participate by bringing their awareness to the sensations in their body. As the client’s awareness heightens, they are able to notice the presence of tensions and deeply held restrictions. When the nervous system becomes aware of tension patterns, release and change begin. This change is often felt as warmth, pulsation, release, relaxation and/or deeper breathing. Read more

Join Joshua to take the first step in being more grounded, calm and relaxed. Weekly meditation... Join Joshua to take the first step in being more grounded, calm and relaxed. Weekly meditation exercises help to integrate calmness and clarity into your everyday situations, decisions and interactions with people. These friendly and supportive group classes foster a sense of community and engagement and are a mix of those brand new to meditation and those that have attended the course one or more times before. The course structure and content are very cohesive and have developed and evolved organically over the last eight years, focusing on: Weeks 1-3: Relaxing, calming, creating more space and greater clarity Weeks 4-7: With the increased clarity and calmness brought about through weeks 1-3, we continue by bringing awareness to unconscious habits, emotional triggers and the emotions powering the stress we feel. Week 8: Course summary and support going forward In summary, we practise calming everything down (weeks 1-3) so that we can start to be aware of and face the source of our stress and unrest (weeks 4-7). This makes space for creativity and flow during your day, rather than pressure and stress. Classes are free of religious affiliation and everything is clearly explained without the use of Eastern terms. 2024 Term 2 Meditation Classes Eight Tuesday Evenings (In-person in Roseville) 30 Apr - 18 Jun, 7:45 - 9:00pm.
