Alison Eastland
About
Alison has been a yoga teacher and a food grower for more than 15 years and a nature lover for her whole life. Alison’s way of practising and teaching yoga is restorative, gentle and slow-paced with a big focus on the breath. After all, most of us have already had enough practice at pushing ourselves and rushing around, and we don’t need any more of that. She is deeply inspired by the nature and landscape of the Melurkedee land of the Palawa people that she lives and works on in the Huon... She is deeply inspired by the nature and landscape of the Melurkedee land of the Palawa people that she lives and works on in the Huon Valley, lutruwita/Tasmania. Alison loves exploring how the practice of yoga and our belonging with nature can support, comfort, nourish and inspire us in these challenging times. Over the years, Alison’s practice has been an oasis for her and is a calm centre in the midst of change and challenge. Alison spent her younger years chronically ill, stressed, and in pain, so every day she appreciates the mental and physical ease and strength that her practice has given her. She is so grateful that she can share this practice thanks to the wisdom, knowledge and generosity of the lineage of teachers who have shared their knowledge and inspired her. Alison is a registered level 3 (senior) teacher with Yoga Australia and a trauma-sensitive and mental health aware yoga teacher. She is an active volunteer for the Climate Resilience Network practitioner group and runs regular yoga classes in acknowledgement of the mental health impacts of climate change. She grows food for her local community on her small farm in the Huon Valley, where she lives with her husband Tom and their dog Bonnie. Bonnie’s Bowl Kitchen Garden produce is till-free, spray-free, slow-farmed and hand-picked with love. Alison offers private yoga sessions and group classes in-person for her local community as well as online worldwide. Alison invites you to join her to focus on your breath, mindful movement and deep rest. Read more
