Ali is a Hatha and restorative yoga instructor who has been teaching for 16 years; as well as a certified mindfulness educator. Her nurturing style of teaching accommodates all levels of yoga students in the room, as she focuses on taking the time to find each and every breath with her slow flow, restorative classes. Based in Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains, Ali was a snowboarder and working in hospitality when she first discovered yoga and was instantly converted to its healing powers. Ali also specialises in children’s yoga, teaching three different age groups under the age of 12. She says while it’s an effort to cut through the craziness to get to the stillness, the children always benefit from the connection between body and mind . For adults, Ali loves to give them space for themselves as they connect with themselves and find physical, mental and emotional relaxation. In a recent yoga program she delivered for school teachers, Ali noticed that when they began, the group was very noisy and venting but by they time they finished, they were quiet, and had a completely different energy and light about them. Ali teaches mindfulness for primary children at a local private school, talking in chat circles about emotions, playing games of association and using her singing bowls. The ultimate aim is to get children to acknowledge their emotions and Ali hopes it will make a significant difference as they become adults. She also offers mindfulness programs for families online to explore ways to become more grounded through mindfulness, diet and yoga. Read more
