About me

Dr Polly McGee is a breathwork and leadership facilitator. Polly lives and breathes breathwork as a tool to elevate all aspects of our precious lives. From surfacing and integrating trauma, relieving and managing anxiety, working with addiction, PTSD, OCD and treatment-resistant depression, to offering us insights into our subconscious and the numinous, breathwork does it all. One of only 400 people selected globally to be trained by Dr Brené Brown in her Dare to Lead certified program facilitation, ... Polly delivers leadership and therapeutic coaching that combines breathwork, counselling and coaching, recognising that what holds us back are our unconscious beliefs that we can’t, rather than the truth of our own magnificence. Polly's experience with their own therapy journey has been that while talking therapy is effective to a degree where conscious trauma is known, the body definitely keeps the score. It is here that somatic therapies such as breathwork allow clients to simply breathe in a safe, held and guided experience and allow their nervous systems to discharge stored trauma residues from unconscious, natal and pre-natal trauma. Polly believes everyone benefits from a regular breathwork practice. It is a proven method of getting your body and mind in optimal condition, which is available as long as you can breathe. The somatic or of the body elements mean that you are able to simply breathe to release trauma without having to know explicitly what you are releasing, which is perfect when you just know you want change, but don’t know how. The real beauty of breathwork is how it reminds you that you already have all you need within, all you have to do is breathe. Polly is trained and certified by Alchemy of Breath as a facilitator, training that is globally accredited by the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance, The American Association of Drugless Practitioners and the International Breathwork Foundation. Polly also has a PhD in Gender Studies focussing on narratives around gender, narrative and identity and is completing a Masters in Counselling, focussing on trauma. Located in the stunning Derwent Valley in Tasmania, Polly provides their breathwork sessions online and in person. Polly looks forward to guiding you to surrender to your breath and experience the transformative power of breathwork for yourself. Read more

This is a one time free session
15 min

The transformation of a breathwork session begins the minute you book. You will be emailed an intake form that will ask for some personal details ... relevant to the session, your health and what the facilitator needs to know to make sure your journey is tailored for you. It is here that the inner work begins. When you arrive at your session/online, you will be taken through an overview of what is going to happen and shown how to do conscious connected breathing. You will be guided when to begin and supported as you breathe. The session will run for approximately 2 hours, with the intro, the journey and an integration discussion with Polly at the end. Every session is accompanied with music that is specifically curated for your journey. The session will unfold as directed largely by your autonomic nervous system and what is needing to be released. Every breathwork session is different every time for every person, which is the joy of a truly person-centred and self-directed approach to this work, you and your body are the authority on what you require to return to equilibrium in your life. Breathwork can be physically and/or vocally expressive, or very still and silent. People might laugh uncontrollably one minute and be sobbing the next. Sometimes there is tremoring to release stored trauma residues, sometimes dancing arms and legs. Often it is none of the above. While breathwork is exceptional for helping to restore balance to many conditions of mind and body, it is also a tool for spiritual and mystical awakenings if this is what you are looking to explore. Many people experience this element to their breathwork and have a sense of something ‘bigger than they are.’ Sessions are available online or in person, with both experiences giving you a transformative journey.
