About me

Michele is a massage therapist offering Swedish massage along with Reiki and reflexology. Working alongside her clients to help them heal themselves, Michele believes massage, reflexology and Reiki are powerful tools that can help to ease tension, reduce muscular aches and pains, improve sleep and nurture a sense of calm. Michele has practiced as a massage and Reiki therapist on and off over the past 20 years and is now moving into the field full time. She is passionate about health and loves ... being able to help others learn how to help themselves. Her Swedish massage, using kneading techniques and working on specific muscles, helps to relax her clients; and she also incorporates elements of Thai massage, doing compression and stretches. Michele offers Reiki with every massage, providing healing energy that is both soothing and relaxing. Her reflexology helps to pinpoint issues in the body, identifying the true origin of a problem. Michele says seeing her clients’ progressively improve over a number of weeks, with aches and pains relieved, or better mobility, or sleep quality enhanced, is the greatest reward. Michele is a member of the Association of Massage Therapists and is committed to ongoing training and learning from other therapists. She is involved in a mentoring program, teaming up with a more experienced therapist to continue with her growth. With a background in community development, social entrepreneurship education, emergency management, youth work and counselling, Michele is working towards training young people and women in Australia and developing countries to run their own natural health businesses. She believes that through finding activities that are a good fit, each person is capable of bringing their body, mind, emotions and soul into a healthy balance. Read more

Reflexology

This therapy aims to treat imbalances in the body in order to heal itself and return to and maintain a state of balance that will lead to optimal ... health. The origins of reflexology may reach back as far as ancient Egypt, with modern reflexology developing from the Zone Therapy work of Dr William Fitzgerald and the system of Foot Reflex Theory developed by Physical Therapist Eunice D. Ingham. By combining the two theories, parts of the body are divided into different zones that correspond to different points on the feet, that when stimulated by applying pressure, healing can then take place. Reflexology can help a person relax, which may assist in reducing physical and mental stress, encouraging the body to heal itself. All sessions come with complementary Reiki. Read more
