Dr Isabel Arnaiz is a physiology lecturer, educator and speaker who uses her expertise to provide coaching in nutrition, health and wellness. She is passionate about educating people on how their body functions to empower them to make good decisions and take charge. Isabel believes health needs to be one of the highest priorities in our life, because without health, we cannot do anything. In order to have an abundant and fulfilling life, we need to care for, accept, cherish and respect our bodies.... Isabel works with people who are actively seeking a lifestyle and mindset change by partnering together to make small, incremental and lasting changes in their lives. As a mother and former academic, Isabel is realistic about what is possible to implement around work, family, study, budget and the many other balls that we juggle in life. She seeks to understand where her clients are at to ensure everything that they are committing to together is manageable and sustainable. Specialising in compassionate weight loss reduction, Isabel’s program is based on the idea that each individual is unique with their own physiological make-up and belief system. Her method empowers her clients to release weight slowly and then maintain it permanently. Isabel completed a Bachelor of Science (1st class honours) at the University of Sydney in 2001 and later completed a PhD in physiology in 2007. She has an extensive academic background of over fifteen years of researching, course coordinating, marking, setting off exams and assessments, tutoring, demonstrating and lecturing at the University of Sydney. While she enjoyed her academic career, like many others, Isabel loved teaching but struggled with the long hours, large workload and commute time. In 2016, she left to follow her love of physiology, science and education to help others. A big part of her nutritional and health coaching consultations is using this background to help explain blood tests, support her clients to make better decisions and know what questions to ask their GP. All consultations are research-based and have sound physiological and nutritional explanations, and she loves sharing her knowledge to help her clients become well-informed. Nutritional Consultation

During your initial nutritional consultation, Dr Isabel Arnaiz will perform a thorough evaluation... During your initial nutritional consultation, Dr Isabel Arnaiz will perform a thorough evaluation of your current health and gather a general overview of your nutritional status. She will take into consideration any chronic illnesses, medications, supplements, investigations/exams and blood test results that you may have. During this consultation together with Isabel, you will work out an estimate of how many consultations are required. You will also come up with an achievable goal to be reviewed at the next consultation. In additional consultations, a detailed analysis of all nutritional components will be performed. This will include proteins, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and fats. Apart from establishing a balanced diet, we will also work towards introducing and eliminating foods to improve any underlying health conditions. All consultations aim to empower you by providing supporting research evidence and easy-to-follow physiological explanation that explain how the changes you are making will provide a benefit. The end goal is that you will eventually be able to have a balanced and healthy diet without having to come back to see Isabel. Read more

Release Weight Compassionately

The compassionate weight-reduction approach by Dr Isabel Arnaiz is based on the idea that... The compassionate weight-reduction approach by Dr Isabel Arnaiz is based on the idea that each individual human being is unique. Each has a distinct physiological make-up and belief system. Isabel takes extreme and detailed care to ensure that the custom design weight-reduction plan is a perfect match for you. During this journey, you will build a strong mentoring relationship with Isabel as she educates and guides you. This method aims to empower you to release weight and then maintain it long-term. It is not a quick fix, but a commitment to your health. You will release weight slowly over a long period of time permanently. You will eat all types of foods and you will eat until you are satisfied. It will require slowly changing your way of life by making simple and realistic changes to your habits. These changes will be embedded within your current lifestyle and therefore effortless. What you will NOT do in this program is count calories or omit complete food groups. And you will certainly not feel guilty about eating. It is essential to reduce weight slowly. This will allow the brain to adapt to the new set point preventing sudden gains in weight. This is particularly true if you have been following an unrealistic weight loss scheme that resulted in large amounts of weight loss. These schemes generally cause a rebound effect that returns you to your original weight. A large component of this program will involve empowering clients to make informed decisions about their lifestyle by learning about the functioning of the body. Initially, every week you will meet with Isabel (personally or through Zoom). These weekly sessions allow an opportunity to discuss progress, make new changes, learn about a new aspect of the body and voice any concerns. It usually takes four weeks to really get to know you in-depth - your habits, your beliefs, your medical history and the foods you consume. After this, you will meet with Isabel monthly, then every 6 months and finally yearly. Read more
