She works with her clients to heal past or present pain that can sit anywhere in their mental, physical, emotional or spiritual bodies. This may include, for example, interpersonal difficulties, anxiety, past trauma, grief and loss, spiritual crisis, loneliness, life transitions, affairs, feeling trapped, unresolved issues and periods of impasse. Clients also come for personal growth and to cultivate healthier mental, emotional and spiritual practices. While Lorraine’s clients may initially engage in therapy for something specific, the process of therapy itself activates a multitude of healings on many levels, which in turn catalyses a deeper understanding of self and soul. Lorraine believes that acquainting ourselves to our inner reality in a deeply personal and private way fuels our way of being and relating in the wider world. In this vast healing playground, we are all individually and collectively growing and evolving and Lorraine feels privileged to be part of this journey with clients. Always curious about the alchemy of transformation and how people can heal and grow despite their traumas, difficulties and backgrounds, Lorraine began her learning in this field in her late twenties and has been building knowledge for over 18 years. In addition to a number of short courses, Lorraine holds a Masters of Counselling and Psychotherapy and is a member of PACFA. Lorraine lives in Sydney with her husband, toddler and teenager. From her private practice in Paddington, she works in person and online with her clients both therapeutically and metaphysically. She has also been teaching across a number of modalities for nearly a decade at the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP) and more recently at Western Sydney University (UWS). These include psychodynamic, narrative, creative, solution-focused, mindfulness, person-centred, transpersonal, existential, Jungian, Gestalt, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), grief and loss, shadow self, and cultural diversity. Lorraine also facilitates workshops in Paddington. We each have our stories, our unique backgrounds, and our ways of being in the world. Lorraine looks forward to joining and supporting you in exploring, healing and transforming. Read more
