Georgie is a visual artist, social worker and group facilitator who approaches her work with creativity and an open heart. She is an intimate and playful person; happily spending her days waking at sunrise, dancing with the land and her visual arts practice, exploring dream worlds over giant cups of tea. Georgie is passionate about the relational experience and the healing that can occur within connection. Her ethos as a visual artist, belief in our interdependence with the natural world and awareness of our embodied experience are core to her therapeutic approach. Georgie has completed a Bachelor of Arts (Indigenous Studies) and Bachelor of Social Work. She has over seven years of experience working with complex and intergenerational trauma in social work, psychotherapy, individual and family work alongside people in Mparntwe/ Alice Springs and Naarm/ Melbourne. In addition to private practice, she works as a group facilitator with adolescents as well as running a range of workshops. Georgie is a facilitator with First Nations organization We Al-li who provide culturally informed trauma integrated healing approaches to individuals, families and organisations. Her areas of interest are ecotherapy, grief and loss, intergenerational healing, creative expression and social justice. Coming from a settler background, Georgie has felt very connected to her Celtic Irish heritage from a young age. She finds ancestral work incredibly healing and is passionate about decolonisation and fostering our connection to land. Georgie is specialising as an adolescent psychotherapist (under 18) and also works with folks in other stages and ages of life. Integrated into her healing approach is the utilisation of a hand-painted deck of cards that Georgie has made called 'Anam Cara Deck.' Using symbols, archetypes, poetry, music and the natural world, each card is a watercolour and ink representation of the world around to offer reflection, insight and connection to the many stories we traverse in our everyday life. Georgie invites you to take a wander into the fertile void with her. Read more

Anam Cara are Celtic words meaning 'soul-friend', a person in this ancient community who could explore your intimate world too with trust, love and honour. This name comes from Georgie's connection to her own Irish heritage and her wise Irish teacher, poet and philosopher John O'Donoghue. Georgie comes to her work practice with creativity and an open heart. In her sessions, she may work one-on-one with a teenager, their parent or caregiver. Other times, a small group may come together comprising family, friends and community. Integrated into Georgie’s healing approach is the utilisation of a hand-painted deck of cards called 'Anam Cara Deck.' Each card has a description to inspire reflection and awareness of process and experience. Read more
