What therapies can I be listed for and what are your criteria?
All therapies listed on the SoulAdvisor platform can be accessed via the Therapies page. Each therapy description written has been referenced by evidence-based research and credible sources and details its history, what to expect from a session, and how the therapy may "nourish your soul".
The number of therapy descriptions will continue to expand to support our growing community. If you would like us to consider a therapy that is not currently listed, please contact us at [email protected].
Qualification requirements
Practitioners can only list therapies under their service offering that are listed with SoulAdvisor. During our vetting process, we follow our Therapy Qualification Requirements to assess all documentation submitted. If you're interested in knowing whether you're suitable for verification, please refer to our Therapy Qualification Requirements page.
Each qualification is reviewed against standards aligned with relevant industry associations and/or governing bodies. If approved, this verifies that your qualification level meets our SoulAdvisor Standards Checklist.
Additional experience and skills
There will be occasions that you would have acquired other skills and knowledge, for example, through continuing professional development courses, community or fieldwork, authoring a book, etc, which are not deemed a qualification; however, they are relevant to your overall experience.
We can showcase this in your biography; however, we will not be able to include such items as qualified therapy within our search functionality.
Understanding the difference between education and training vs qualification
According to our qualification framework, there is a difference between education and training vs qualification, and we are here to assist you on how best to approach this within the SoulAdvisor community.
Example: A practitioner may offer Reiki and crystal healing with flower essences. The practitioner holds qualifications in Reiki but is self-taught in crystals and flower essences. Based on our qualification process, the practitioner can only elect Reiki as a qualification, but may include details on crystals and/or flower essences in their service descriptions.
To include crystal healing and flower essences as a qualification, you would need to have met the industry standards as a practitioner, be it at a certificate IV, diploma, to degree level, depending on the therapy.
As part of our onboarding process, the practitioner relationship team will be able to support you in navigating the qualification process while also showcasing your unique offering.
Understanding the difference between Baseline Therapies and Adjunct Therapies
SoulAdvisor takes the concept of adequate training seriously. Part of our role is to ensure that Explorers work with therapists who have spent enough time in their field to be able to provide safe service. We distinguish between:
- Baseline Therapies - those therapies that we can accept a practitioner for if they have the standard of training that is commonly accepted as appropriate, and this amount exceeds 6 months.
- Adjunct Therapies - those therapies that a therapist has trained in, which may have taken less than 6 months, and the therapist already has training in Baseline therapy.
A therapist cannot be verified on our platform with a stand-alone Adjunct therapy. The exception to this rule is if they have practised this therapeutic modality for 10 years or more.
