Book Reading & Conversation: Healing Through Food, Ritual & Deep Care
We’re honoured to welcome Jennifer Thomas—Ayurvedic therapist, retreat host, and soul-nurturer—to our SoulAdvisor Book Club series. With decades of experience in Ayurvedic healing, Qi Gong, and meditation, Jennifer offers a deeply integrated, home-based retreat experience on the NSW South Coast, where she gently guides others back to balance and wellbeing.
In this nourishing 45-minute session, Jennifer will share the inspiration behind her three-part book series A Taste of Ayurveda, which grew out of her personal journey of recovery from addiction using Ayurvedic food as a foundational healing practice. These books are more than recipe collections—they are manuals for returning to rhythm, warmth, and inner harmony. Her work demonstrates how food, when lovingly prepared and eaten with intention, becomes both medicine and metaphor.
Jennifer’s approach is grounded, deeply kind, and informed by years working within public health systems. Her books represent a rare and powerful integration of ancient wisdom with lived experience—offering a model of embodied care for those navigating substance disorder, burnout, or simply longing for a softer way to return to self.
We warmly encourage you to explore the book series in advance and bring your reflections and questions. You can learn more and purchase the books here:
