About

Joe is a Kahuna (Lomi Lomi) bodyworker, Zenthai shiatsu massage therapist and yoga teacher who has been practicing since 2018. Originally trained in Vinyasa yoga, Joe aims to adapt his yoga teaching to what the client needs and steers towards Hatha style and movement-based therapy. Joe works to get his yoga students to connect their bodies to the breath. He often finds people who have a sense of fear about stretching and he provides safe guidance to enable them to do this. Joe believes Zenthai ... shiatsu complements yoga because he puts the person into the stretches they require in a gentle way. Kahuna massage is a deep relaxation style massage that taps into the parasympathetic nervous system and works the whole body, so you are working on the body as well as the mind, according to Joe. Based on sacred Hawaiian tradition, Kahuna massage moves the energy around the subtle body. Joe says once the mind knows it is safe to relax, the body fully ‘melts’ and clients come away feeling relaxed in both body and mind. Joe first discovered bodywork and yoga in 2017, while searching for new ways to complement his gym training and find some relief from his lower back and neck stiffness as a result of his desk job as a graphic designer. Since then, he has investigated different healing methods that integrate the connection between body, mind and spirit in order to reach optimal states of awareness. Joe loves connecting with his clients, especially when doing his Zenthai massage in which he works with meta-awareness – using a loving kind touch - to create a safe experience so the body doesn’t shut down but instead opens up. When he is not working, Joe devotes time to recharging his body and mind through his own yoga practice, meditation, reading, and the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Joe looks forward to providing you with a safe and harmonious space for your physical release and energetic cleanse. Read more
